MERCY IS OURS

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Matthews 5:7

When Jesus says the merciful will be blessed, He doesn't say they will be blessed with honor and glory and praise. He never promises that if you are merciful a national magazine will automatically bang on your door, wanting to write your story so the world will be impressed. Most often the greatest acts of mercy remain known only to the giver, the recipient, and God.

What Jesus does promise t the merciful is far better and more lasting than fleeting fame. He vows that those who consider and bear with others will obtain mercy for themselves.

For Your mercies, I rejoice, and for the blessings that fill me when I do Your will.
