Forgiving
Week of 03/13/06

Dan had a father with a terrific memory for everything he did wrong. For years, even after his father died, he still struggled with making any kind of mistake. When he did stumble in any way, he was incredibly hard on himself. Yet, when the freedom of this verse really hit him as truth in a counseling session, he literally cried tears of relief. The same freedom he felt is available to you as well.

A wonderful promise to remember today is that God forgives not some, but all our iniquities.

Christians are people who at some point turned to Jesus and found forgiveness and peace. Sometimes God allows a person to reach Death Row before finding Him. Yet once God is found, the offender is pardoned in heaven, though perhaps not on earth. Sometimes, however, God permits that person to remain here long enough to tell the world of his unworthiness and of God's unexplainable forgiveness for all who seek Him and request it.

Is there a sin, an iniquity, in your life you've thought God couldn't forgive?

Thank You, Lord, for the blessing of forgiveness—for me and all who ask.
[God] forgives all your iniquities.
- PS. 103:3
